Kyomachiya Chart Profile

The Kyoto City Landscape and Urban Development Center (a public interest incorporated foundation) creates "Kyoto Machiya Medical Records," which compile cultural information such as the history, culture, and value of each Kyoto Machiya, as well as the building's condition such as its deterioration, and "Kyoto Machiya Profiles," which compile information on the exterior of each Kyoto Machiya, as one means of ensuring that Kyoto Machiya are properly passed on to future generations (fee applies).

Important Kyoto Machiya Records (Issued by Kyoto City)

For individually designated Kyoto townhouses, with the aim of helping owners rediscover the value of their townhouses, deepen their attachment to them, and ensure their proper inheritance to future generations, we provide those who request it with a free "Important Kyoto Townhouse Profile (issued by Kyoto City)," which summarizes the value of the townhouse in the form of "basic information," "cultural information," "building information," and "floor plan." We will also continue to consider the possibility of designating these townhouses as important landscape buildings in the future.

※ This is for those who wish to have their buildings designated as important landscape structures.
* There is a limit to the number of surveys that can be conducted each year. Depending on the timing, the survey may be conducted in the following year or later.
