The second project in the "Kyoto Machiya Rental Model Project": A large Kyoto townhouse with a 100-year-old wall structure will be used as an office and company housing after 20 years!

In Kyoto City, since fiscal year 2020, the city has been implementing the "Kyoto Machiya Rental Model Project," in which the city leases traditional Kyoto townhouses from their owners, subleases them to businesses that utilize them, and renovates and utilizes them with the energy of the private sector.
As the second project in this model initiative, we have solicited applications from businesses to repurpose a large Kyoto townhouse in Nakagyo Ward, built in the traditional Oobei style (*), which had been vacant for approximately 20 years. The property will be renovated and used as both an office and company housing. Please see the press release for further details.

* A Kyoto townhouse with a wall, built exclusively for the residence of wealthy merchants, etc. It has a high wall on the street side.
